One of the benefits of CRM is to have a single point of reference. We find that many of our customers have been using Outlook as their most reliable database and the thought of moving away from Outlook contacts is often feared. The good news is, you don’t have to stop using your contacts in Outlook, you just need to have Outlook and CRM synchronised.
You will need to have the Outlook CRM Client installed to follow the instructions below.
Track your Outlook contacts
Tracking your Outlook contacts enables them to be synced and
available in both Outlook and CRM. If you make a change to a
contact that is tracked in either Outlook or CRM, the contact will
be synced and updated in both. However if you delete the
contact from CRM it will remain in Outlook, and vice versa.
Select one or multiple contacts from Outlook, right click and
select "Track in CRM".

Bulk import
Using the "Add Contacts" wizard in the Outlook client is a
convenient way of moving all your contacts into CRM.
From within Outlook, click on File / CRM / Import Contacts and
select "Add Contacts".

Once the "Add Contacts" wizard opens, click on Next.

The wizard will now analyse your data.

Once the wizard is complete, you can select several options or
groups of contacts to view and select from:
- Account (Accounts will be created based on the companies linked
to your contacts)
- Email domain
- Category (Category specified in Outlook)

Here you can also configure whether or not an account should be
created for the companies linked to the contact. Another nice
feature is that you can decide here whether or not future
communication with these contacts should be synchronised to
CRM.
Once you have decided on which contacts you want to add to CRM,
click on "Add Contacts".
