MS Office Communicator auto sign-in

MHA Managed Communicator requires you to type your password into the client each time you open it. There is a quick registry key you can add to allow it to automatically login. Once this key has been added you will see there is now a box in the client "Save Password" that can be checked.

Shrinking a Dynamics CRM 4.0 Database Log File

Recently, we had a MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 database that had a bad Duplicate Detection job in it. The job had been running for months and the database had grown gigs in size before we found it. There were 16 million records in the Duplicate Detection table - ouch. We followed another article to find the offending rule, disable the rule and then clear out the database.

CRM 4 – Large DuplicateRecordBase Table

Dynamics CRM 4 has great capabilities in helping to keep a crm system relatively duplicate free by using duplicate detection rules. However, care must be taken when creating these duplicate detection rules. Each time a duplicate detection rule runs and a match is found, the matches are written to the ‘DuplicateRecordBase’ table. If the rules are poorly written this table can drastically grow in size thus causing large database growth, async service issues, and duplicate detection issues.

iPhone OS 4.0 allows multiple Exchange accounts

Apple revealed iPhone OS 4.0 yesterday. Most of the improvements were expected as they need to compete with Google Android, Palm webOS and Windows Phone 7. Three of the improvements we are most excited about here at MHA are Exchange Server 2010 support, multiple Exchange accounts, and multitasking.
